LTU

German Low Fare Airline

The German airline LTU is the only low fare airline currently operating scheduled flights direct to Tivat in Montenegro. Cheapest one-way fares come to €121 including taxes from either Düsseldorf or Berlin Schönefeld.

These fares don't really compare with what low cost airlines can offer, so you can save money by flying to Dubrovnik in Croatia with one of Europe's no-frills carriers and then taking the bus south across the Montenegrin border. See the note below.

Budget Travel Tip: Cheap flights to (near) Montenegro

Since not many low fare airlines fly to Montenegro one good alternative is to find a budget flight to the city of Dubrovnik, just north of Montenegro's border with Croatia - and then travel south overland.

At present four dedicated European low cost carriers serve Dubrovnik: germanwings and HLX operate budget flights from Germany, Norwegian flies from Norway and Sky Europe connects to southern Dalmatia from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Additionally, two flag carriers - British Airways and Aer Lingus - operate low fare routes to Dubrovnik from the UK and Ireland. And the low fare airlines Estonian Air and Fly LAL fly to southern Dalmatia from the Baltic States of Estonia and Lithuania respectively.
