Just as no-frills airlines in North America and Europe regularly run promotional campaigns to keep themselves in the headlines, during which fares are hugely discounted, so the new wave of budget carriers in Asia are now also using incredibly cheap special offers as an effective way to promote themselves and increase their popularity via word of mouth.
As the no-frills airline competition in India and Southeast Asia heats up this year, you can expect to see promotions for new routes, free or almost-free tickets and domestic and international flights available for a fraction of their normal price over limited periods.
The special offer prices which low cost airlines use to promote their services are cheaper - sometimes a lot cheaper - than regular budget fares and usually offer outstanding value. The list below is updated every time a new offer arrives on our desk, so feel free to bookmark this page and come back to check the list as often as you like.

Air India Express website goes live
[Thursday, 24th March] After some anticipation, this week sees the launch of the Air India Express website. Air India's budget subsidiary will operate from four domestic airports - Calicut, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai and Delhi - and will connect to four Gulf destinations including Dubai & Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and Salalah & Muscat in Oman.
Air India Express says it will also look to expand to Chennai in India and introduce further international routes to Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha and Sharjah in the Gulf as well as to Bangkok in Thailand, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and to Singapore.
Air India Express is the fourth Indian budget airline to have an online presence. The others include Air Deccan, Kingfisher and spiceJet.
