On the continent of Africa - from Morocco in the northwest to South Africa in the far south - there are now eight low fare airlines in operation. But a good handful of European and Middle Eastern low cost and low fare airlines (see below) also fly to North and East Africa - to countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Sudan.
The recent launch of SAA subsidiary, fly mango means that South Africa alone now has four low fare airlines - the others being Kulula, 1time and Nationwide. The eldest of the four, Kulula, serves Namibia and Zimbabwe as well as South Africa. Elsewhere, Virgin Nigeria operates in Nigeria, Atlas Blue and Jet 4 you both operate out of Morocco and fly 540 has just launched in Kenya.
